• Certain things in life are so good that we wish that they would never end. The unique voice of J.D. Sumner – supposedly the lowest human voice of our time – is such a thing. THE FINAL SESSIONS was nominated for the 2000 Grammy Award for Best Southern, Country, Or Bluegrass Gospel Album. J.D. Sumner led the Stamps to great fame as one of the preeminent post-war gospel groups. Their sound blossomed throughout the decades, often breaking through to the mainstream (by the ’70s, they performed regularly with Elvis Presley).
