Sweden’s Gospel Singers Kjell & Rolf – Tour the USA – PLP 1010 – vinyl

Den första av 3 album som Kjell & Rolf spelade in i RCA-Victor Studio B i Nashville, Tenn för skivbolaget Heart Warming / Impact under deras första Amerika-turné 1966-67 tillsammans med Janne Sjöberg (kontrabas) och Roland Claesson (gitarr). Den tidens främsta musiker i Nashville spelade och hela albumet med 12 sånger spelades in med musik och sång under 2 x 3 timmar. Producent var Bob MacKenzie och arrangör var Rick Powell.

This crude paraphrase of the classic line is an apt description of the recent, exciting, American tour ministry of the Samuelson Brothers – Rolf andKjell … the Swedish Gospel Singers.
These bright young men… both studying for advanced degrees at Sweden’s famed University of Uppsala … have been pioneers in the ministry of gospel music directed especially toward young people throughout Sweden. 
During their extended tour of the Unites States the Samuelson Brothers have sung and played in great revival centers, large metropolitan churches and in humble assemblies in almost every state including Hawaii. They have ministered with a host of America’s leading pastors, evangelists and musicians and have appeared in concerts with renowned gospel groups like the Blackwood Brothers, Jake Hess and the Imperials and the Statesmen.
Their American tour brought them to Nashville…Music City, USA…a recording center known around the world for its unique sound…”the Nashville Sound”… and this exceptional recording is the happy result. The Boys’ well blended voices are set against an exciting ”Nashville Sound” instrumental and vocal background provided by some of the same violinists, guitarists and keyboard artists that have accompanied Nashville ”stars” like Jim Reeves, Eddy Arnold and Chet Atkins.

Rolf and Kjell sing some American gospel songs in Swedish and some Swedish songs in English. Whichever the language you’ll have no difficulty in sensing the sincere, dedicated spirit and joyous enthusiasm of these Swedish Gospel Singers.
